If you own or operate a boiler, you know that it is critical to ensure it operates safely and efficiently. One way to do this is through a National Board Fitness for Service Inspection. This inspection is designed to assess the condition of your boiler and identify any potential issues that could compromise its safety and efficiency.
At ABI, we specialize in providing National Board Fitness for Service Inspections for boilers of all types and sizes. Our team of experienced and certified inspectors uses state-of-the-art equipment and techniques to thoroughly evaluate your boiler and provide you with a detailed report of its condition.
During the inspection, we will evaluate the integrity of your boiler's structural components, including the pressure vessel, tubes, and other critical components. We will also examine the boiler's controls, instrumentation, and safety systems to ensure they are functioning properly.
Our inspectors will use advanced NDE techniques such as ultrasonic testing, radiography, and visual inspection to identify any signs of wear and tear, corrosion, or other damage that could affect the safe and efficient operation of your boiler.
With a National Board Fitness for Service Inspection from ABI, you can have peace of mind knowing that your boiler is operating safely and efficiently, and that any potential issues have been identified and addressed. Fitness For Service Inspection may be needed for the following objects:
- Power Boilers
- Pressure Tanks
- Cryogenic Tanks
- Sterilizers
Many states require the FFS when A) a boiler or object has been in-service for some time without any previous inspection history B) if a boiler or object is used or brought in from out of state. These inspections will determine if the object meets the standards for your state and qualify to have a Certificate Inspection performed and a Certificate to Operate issued.
